Sea Chest
I have a secret to tell you. You might have already picked up a tiny hint by now but I am drawn to things nautical. I know this is shocking to those of you who know me, but I had to say it! (For those of you who don't know me, please imagine the people who DO know me rolling around on the floor right now, laughing their heads off.)
Why am I drawn to this? Maybe because I am Aquarius, maybe because I was born near the coast in another state, maybe because I grew up in Houston, spending lots of time in the Galveston area, maybe because that's just what I like. Who knows?
I love almost anything water related (hmm, those jet skis, though, are another matter....do y'all KNOW how obnoxious you can be with those?) and could really spend days and days searching through shell shops and places like them for that indefinable something...that thing that will just jump off the shelf and say, "it's me, it's me".
I've already told you about RonJon Surf Shop in the Crows Nest section, but I really did spend about three days in that place...it's fantastic. There is also a shell shop I remember in Morro Bay, California that is always great for shell sifting. And there's bound to be some sites for the shops in Galveston...if not, just go there, for real, in real life, you know you need to anyway. In the meantime, I'll be looking and adding.
Other things nautique that I enjoy are:
The Captain's Maritime Links - just about everything you are looking for!
Nautical Know How - This is a page inside boatsafe.com that describes various meanings for nautical flags.
Captain Morgan's Porthole - okay, maybe not EXACTLY nautical but sort of. You can search here for rum drink recipes.
The Internet Divers Guide - Florida Keys, Cayman Islands, and Red Sea...lots of info here, another interesting site I like to browse through.
The South Padre Island Sons of the Beach - you've seen the TV ad, now check out their site. This is a cool site with tons of info on sand castles!
I'll add more as I find them, and if you have a site that belongs here, please float me a message so I can add it. Thanks.
